WELCOME GOODFELLAS!


The 2025 Good Fellas Open will be heading up to the mountains of Maine this year to Sugarloaf Golf Club on August 21-23! After an exhaustive and highly competitive selection process, which pitted many of the finest golf facilities in New England against each other (with the exception of several clubs which emphatically stated “Never again” or words to that effect), your Chairmen are very excited to bring the GFO back to ‘The Loaf’ in 2025. Fun fact, the Fella’s were last at Sugarloaf in 2012 and it was the scene of one of Tom Steinle’s six (really) GFO championships.

Sugarloaf features a really strong and beautiful golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and has been rated Maine’s best golf course by Golf Digest 29 times (small tip from the Chairmen, Costco is currently selling 2 dozen Kirkland golf balls for $34.99, just saying). There are ample and varied housing options available on campus with some really good venues for food and drink. Plus, the entire staff of Sugarloaf have been terrific to work with and are really excited to be hosting the Fella’s. Simply put, we believe Sugarloaf checks all the boxes.

We have been keenly focused on keeping the all-in costs for GFO ’25 as reasonable as possible while offering a variety of housing options along with food, a bit of drink and golf. As in past years, we will be offering a number of ‘packages’ varied between 2 or 3 nights, either in condos or at the Sugarloaf Hotel each with single or double occupancy. August 15th to 18th, 2024

Jim Harrington and John Wilson emerged victorious to take the 40th GFO Open by 3 shots over Tom D’Arcy and Andy Varney (amongst others) in a very crowded leaderboard behind very strong play and 2 very hot putters.  The win by the boys marked back-to-back victories for Jumbo (which did have a few of the fellas a muttering). But a solid opening round on Friday followed by strong play over 27 holes on Saturday secured them the hard-fought victory in the 40th playing of the GFO!!  The win was the third for Wilsie and second for Jumbo. Well done boys !!!
